Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Great Lakes Officials Academy (“GLOA”), including our website, courses, memberships, and related services (collectively, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms.

Last updated: March 5, 2026

1) Who We Are

The Services are operated by Thompson Summit Group, LLC doing business as Great Lakes Officials Academy (“GLOA”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). Our contact information is listed in the sidebar.

2) Eligibility & Accounts

You must provide accurate information and maintain the security of your account. You are responsible for all activity under your login credentials. If you suspect unauthorized use, contact us immediately.

  • Minimum age: 15. Users under 18 must have parent/guardian permission where required.
  • One account per person unless explicitly authorized
  • Do not share login credentials

3) Training Content Disclaimer

GLOA provides education and training content intended to support sports officiating development. Our materials may reference NFHS concepts, mechanics, and scenario training, but we are not a governing body. Rules interpretations and mechanics can vary by state association, local league, or assigner. Always follow your current rulebook and local mechanics guidance.

4) Purchases, Memberships & Billing

Certain features require payment (e.g., memberships, courses, digital products). By purchasing, you authorize us (and our payment processors) to charge your selected payment method.

Memberships

  • Memberships are billed monthly and may renew automatically unless canceled.
  • You may cancel at any time through your account settings or by contacting support.
  • Access generally remains active until the end of your current billing period unless stated otherwise.

Refunds

No refunds: All purchases are final. Because our products and services include digital content and access (including courses, instructional materials, and memberships), we do not offer refunds.

5) Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Services. This includes:

  • Attempting to access systems or data you don’t have permission to access
  • Sharing, reselling, or redistributing course content without written permission
  • Copying, recording (including screen recording), photographing, or reproducing instructional courses, videos, downloads, or training materials
  • Harassment, hate, threats, or abusive conduct
  • Cheating or manipulating progress/quizzes in a way that undermines training integrity

6) Intellectual Property

All content and materials provided through the Services—videos, text, graphics, logos, scenarios, downloads, and course structure—are owned by GLOA or licensed to us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to access content for your individual use.

Downloads

We may make certain resources available for download (e.g., PDFs/handouts). Downloads are provided for your personal use only, and may not be shared, uploaded, distributed, or sold.

7) User Content

If you post, upload, submit, or transmit content (e.g., comments, questions, feedback), you grant us permission to use it to operate, improve, and promote the Services. Do not post content you do not have rights to share.

8) Service Changes & Availability

We may update, modify, or discontinue parts of the Services from time to time. We do not guarantee the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.

9) Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GLOA will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising from your use of the Services.

10) Indemnification

You agree to defend and indemnify GLOA against claims and expenses arising from your misuse of the Services, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any rights of another person.

11) Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, if we suspect fraud/abuse, if you initiate chargebacks in bad faith, or if required to comply with law. You may stop using the Services at any time. Certain obligations (including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) survive termination.

12) Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Michigan, without regard to conflict of law principles.
